All cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and hardware are removed and labeled. Doors are taken to our spray facility for professional finishing. Cabinet boxes are painted on-site. This produces a finish quality that brush painting can never match.
Kitchen cabinets accumulate years of cooking grease that prevents paint from bonding properly. We use TSP-substitute and industrial degreasers to strip all residue from every surface before any sanding begins.
All surfaces are sanded to scuff-up the existing finish and create mechanical adhesion for the primer. We apply a bonding primer specifically formulated for previously finished wood and MDF — the step that determines whether your paint job lasts 2 years or 15.
Cabinet doors receive two spray-applied coats of premium cabinet-grade paint at our shop. Cabinet boxes receive two hand-applied coats on-site with a fine-nap roller for a smooth finish. Between coats, we lightly sand and tack-wipe for an ultra-smooth result.
Doors are reinstalled and adjusted for perfect alignment. All hardware is reinstalled (or we install your new hardware if you're upgrading). Maria does a final inspection of every door, drawer, and cabinet box before we leave.
